Kelle Cruz

Kelle Cruz

Status: Former undergraduate researcher. Now in Penn graduate school.
Activities and positions: Tennis, backpacking, and solving jigsaw puzzles. Also president and co-president of Women Interested in the Study of Physics (WISP).
Education: BA Honors in Physics with Astrophysics concentration and math minor. Currently pursuing a PhD in astrophysics.
Languages: English, French and Spanish.
Research with us: Kelle found the cross-correlation of data taken from MAT of the galactic plane with existing infrared surveys. She studied the spectral properties of our galaxy as well as the extended nebulae around several unresolved infrared sources. The results provided constraints to current galactic emission models. In the process, she produced the highest resolution large scale map to date.
