Jon Fisher

Jon Fisher

Status: Former undergraduate researcher. Now attending graduate school at Penn.
Musical talent: Can play most songs on teeth!
Education: Pursued a BA in Physics with a minor in English.
Research with us: Jon designed and built an Infrared Fourier Transform Spectrometer (IRFTS) to be used in the future to test the frequency spectrum "visible" to the next generation of detectors. The frequency spectrum is important because there is a good deal of unwanted (non-CMB) signal obtained if the particular bandwidth is not strictly adhered to by the detector itself. An IRFTS tells us if the detectors are good for what they are designed for.
